IT Field Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, outgoing IT Field Engineer to be based in Solihull and travel to regional sites as needed. You will be the go‑to IT expert on‑site, delivering hands‑on support and building strong relationships with users across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite IT support for networks, desktops, and mobile devices across several sites.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all IT‑related incidents, service requests, and technical problems.
• Maintain and document IT equipment, infrastructure, and configurations.
• Collaborate with third‑party providers to ensure rapid issue resolution.
• Lead local IT projects, upgrades, and installations.
• Deliver a high‑quality customer experience and foster positive stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a field engineer or onsite IT support role.
• Outgoing, approachable personality with strong communication skills.
• Customer‑first mindset and confidence engaging with users at all levels.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload, and travel between sites.
• Willingness to provide occasional out‑of‑hours support.

Required skills

• Windows desktop support and imaging.
• Azure Active Directory/Entra and Group Policy.
• LAN/WAN networking, switches, routers, Wi‑Fi, firewalls.
• Mobile device support for Apple, Android, and Microsoft platforms.
