IT Foundation Lecturer – Harrow (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Foundation Lecturer to join a thriving Further Education college in Harrow. You will deliver engaging, inclusive lessons to Foundation and Entry Level learners, helping them build confidence and digital competence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver IT lessons covering Digital Skills, Microsoft Office, Online Safety, Computing Fundamentals and Employability Skills.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources for learners with varying abilities, including SEND and EHCP students.
• Monitor, assess and track learner progress, providing timely feedback and individualized support.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement in line with college requirements.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and inclusivity within the classroom.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, curriculum teams, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Contribute to quality‑assurance processes and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity and health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Experience teaching IT, Computing or Digital Skills in Further Education, secondary or adult learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional needs.
• Ability to differentiate lessons for diverse learning styles.
• Organisational skills and accurate record‑keeping.
• Knowledge of current teaching, learning and assessment practices.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.
• Relevant IT qualification (Level 3 or above) and a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
