IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Siemens Healthineers is creating a state‑of‑the‑art £250m innovation and manufacturing facility in Bicester. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer you will help design, build and maintain the core IT environment that supports this new site from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support, design and implement core IT infrastructure for a brand‑new manufacturing and innovation environment.
• Identify and deliver improvements in system performance, resilience and security.
• Define, develop and deliver complex infrastructure projects, working both independently and collaboratively.
• Maintain and enhance information and cyber‑security practices across systems and platforms.
• Investigate issues, determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Work closely with the Service Desk on escalated incidents, providing technical support and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, shared ownership and learning.

Required profile

• Experience with Windows desktop and server environments, both on‑premise and cloud‑hosted.
• Knowledge of high‑performance computing environments.
• Networking experience across LAN (VLANs), WAN (SD‑WAN), Wi‑Fi and firewalls.
• Experience with infrastructure and server monitoring.
• Strong understanding of information and cyber‑security best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL and project‑management principles.
• Ability to automate tasks using scripting.
• Collaborative approach with confidence to work autonomously.
