IT Manager

About the role

Turn IT On is seeking an enthusiastic IT Manager to lead the ICT network of a school in Reading. The role combines technical oversight with strategic development, ensuring that the school’s technology supports effective teaching, learning and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the school’s network infrastructure and ICT applications.
• Monitor, maintain and secure switches, virtual and physical server environments, Microsoft 365 and backup solutions.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support and resolve service requests efficiently.
• Lead, coach and line‑manage the ICT support team.
• Prepare and present monthly service review reports, highlighting SLA performance.
• Enforce school IT policies and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Deliver training and advice to staff to maximise the use of technology.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior ICT Consultant within a school environment.
• Proven ability to upgrade and maintain school IT networks.
• Strong communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
