IT Operations Manager – Reading

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead the day‑to‑day technology function for a growing organisation in Reading. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will ensure IT services are reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operation of IT infrastructure, networks, and end‑user services.
• Manage and develop technical support teams to meet SLA targets.
• Oversee incident, problem, change and major incident management.
• Maintain stability and security of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Drive continuous improvement and lifecycle management of infrastructure.
• Coordinate disaster recovery, business continuity and compliance activities.
• Manage third‑party suppliers, monitor performance and negotiate contracts.
• Produce operational reports, dashboards and manage the operational budget.

Required profile

• Significant experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure Management or Service Delivery.
• Proven track record of leading technical support or infrastructure teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

What we offer

• £65,000 salary (per annum) – permanent contract.
• Office‑based role in Reading, 5 days initially then 3 days per week after probation.
• Monday‑Friday working hours (7:00‑16:00 or 7:30‑16:30).
• 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
