IT Operations & Security Engineer

About the role

The IT Operations & Security Engineer will own the design, deployment and maintenance of both cloud and on‑premises Microsoft environments. This hands‑on role blends technical expertise with operational leadership, ensuring the infrastructure remains secure, resilient and highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Manage third‑party vendors for Azure, Microsoft 365, servers, networks, storage and end‑user infrastructure.
• Monitor performance, capacity and availability; implement improvements.
• Deploy, configure, patch and maintain cloud and on‑premises systems.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Identity & Access Management.
• Operate Microsoft Hyper‑V virtualisation environments.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
• Oversee backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, server, networking and hardware issues.
• Deliver infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and disaster‑recovery projects.
• Maintain hardware, software and asset inventories and follow ITIL Incident, Change and Problem Management processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Microsoft cloud and on‑premises technologies.
• Strong background in virtualisation, networking and cybersecurity.
• Hands‑on operational experience with vendor management and project delivery.
• Willingness to travel to the London office and work occasional out‑of‑hours for maintenance or incidents.
