IT Project Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Saab UK is seeking a motivated IT Project Manager for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to lead the delivery of complex IT infrastructure and change projects across its UK operations. Reporting to the Senior IT Project Manager, you will coordinate resources, manage timelines and ensure quality standards are met in a secure, defence‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end delivery of IT infrastructure and change initiatives, from initiation through to completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, collaborating with internal teams and third‑party suppliers.
• Track daily project activities, monitor progress and raise risks, issues and dependencies as needed.
• Ensure deliverables comply with Saab UK’s governance and quality frameworks.
• Assist with budget tracking, forecasting and change control, communicating impacts on scope, schedule and cost.
• Coordinate IT changes across multiple infrastructure environments, leveraging a solid understanding of IT systems.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular status updates.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned workstreams, facilitating smooth delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT projects or workstreams, preferably within a technical or defence‑related setting.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within scope.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with technical teams.

Required skills

• General understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
