IT Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a permanent IT Project Manager to lead critical transformation projects across IT and OT environments in Bedford. The role sits within a growing Digital & Technology function and will drive large‑scale digital change in a highly regulated, security‑focused organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of IT and digital transformation initiatives, including infrastructure, applications, cyber security, workplace technology and operational systems.
• Develop project plans, roadmaps, business cases, budgets and benefits realisation strategies.
• Manage project governance, steering groups, risk registers, issues and change controls.
• Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and external partners to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
• Provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders and maintain strong relationships across technical and operational teams.
• Support modernisation of infrastructure, security programmes, operational systems and data platforms while ensuring compliance with security and assurance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering IT transformation, modernisation or digital change projects.
• Project management certification such as PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, APM PMQ/PPQ or equivalent.
• Experience working in an ITIL‑aligned environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Ability to obtain or hold SC Security Clearance.
