IT Support Engineer (1st & 2nd Line)

About the role

Our client relies on robust IT services to keep trading systems, development platforms and everyday tools running smoothly. They are seeking an IT Support Engineer to deliver first‑ and second‑line support in a fast‑paced office environment, helping users stay productive and minimizing disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, operating systems and connectivity issues.
• Maintain and support a mixed environment of Windows (≈50%) and Linux (Ubuntu) workstations.
• Manage user onboarding/off‑boarding, access control and device provisioning.
• Support office IT infrastructure including networking, printers and AV equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop and internal system problems.
• Assist with IT projects focused on reliability, security and automation.
• Contribute to documentation, monitoring and asset management.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in 1st/2nd line IT support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems and business applications.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows and/or Linux (Ubuntu) environments.
• Proactive attitude, excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site five days a week.

Required skills

• Windows operating system support.
• Linux (Ubuntu) administration.
• FreeIPA or similar directory services.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Basic networking knowledge (switches, Wi‑Fi, VPN).
• Endpoint management experience.
