IT System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on IT System Administrator to run the day‑to‑day IT operations for a small, regulated, security‑sensitive organisation based in London. The estate is cloud‑first, built on Microsoft 365 and AWS, and you will own the operational estate end‑to‑end, including identity, devices, network and frontline support. You will work closely with the platform team and report to the CIO.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for L1‑L2 incidents, own the ticket queue and keep users informed.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (mailboxes, groups, licensing, SSO integration, joiner/mover/leaver processes, least‑privilege access controls).
• Deploy and manage Windows, macOS, Android and iOS devices via Intune; ensure new starters are operational on day one and maintain meeting‑room/AV equipment.
• Own the office network – routing, switching, cabling, firewalls and wireless access points.
• Implement and maintain security controls, administer Sophos endpoint protection, and support Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 compliance activities.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities across IT services.

Required profile

• Must hold or be eligible for UK security clearance.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365/Entra ID and device management with Intune.
• Familiarity with AWS‑based services and networking hardware.
• Ability to work in a regulated, security‑sensitive environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for L1‑L2 support.
