IT Systems Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join our team in Yatton, ensuring the security, efficiency and reliability of all IT systems across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer servers, storage and core infrastructure to guarantee stability and performance.
• Manage virtual environments, configure virtual machines and oversee host clusters.
• Support and troubleshoot network issues, maintain documentation and assist with network upgrades.
• Administer cloud platforms, manage cloud‑based servers and enforce cloud governance policies.
• Maintain backup systems, test disaster‑recovery procedures and manage storage solutions.
• Implement security measures, monitor vulnerabilities and support compliance audits.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell.
• Act as an escalation point for infrastructure incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and participate in change management.
• Manage the lifecycle of hardware assets and ensure proper configuration of physical systems.
• Lead infrastructure projects, evaluate new technologies and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong commitment to customer service and high satisfaction levels.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and build effective working relationships.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
• Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Cisco/Meraki hardware.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of backup, disaster‑recovery and security best practices.
