IT Systems & End‑User Administrator – 1‑Year Fixed‑Term

About the role

IMI plc is seeking an IT Systems and End‑User Administrator on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will support in‑house IT systems, manage the service desk, and ensure the availability and security of business‑critical applications for a global engineering business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware, software and access issues.
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers and wireless access points.
• Install, configure and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices and printers.
• Perform routine system health checks, patch management and backup administration.
• Execute basic security tasks such as user provisioning, antivirus updates and security audits.
• Maintain accurate records of support activities, asset inventories and system changes.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff and third‑party suppliers to resolve escalated issues.
• Administer Microsoft Active Directory, VMware environment, Microsoft 365 and backup systems.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience delivering first‑line IT support in a corporate environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Attention to detail in maintaining documentation and security compliance.

Required skills

• Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019+ operating systems.
• Microsoft Active Directory administration.
• VMware virtualization environment.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Network infrastructure basics (switches, routers, wireless APs).
• Backup and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Antivirus/endpoint protection management.
• Patch management and system health monitoring.
