IT Technician / Support Engineer – 1st & 2nd Line (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated IT Technician / Support Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team in Greater Manchester. You will provide first‑ and second‑line support for a range of hardware, software and network services, ensuring smooth operation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for IT issues, handling tickets in line with agreed service levels.
• Provide desktop, laptop, mobile, server and storage support, including installation, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Manage patching, security audits and user education to maintain data security and regulatory compliance.
• Document incidents, resolutions and processes to improve knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues and implement new technologies.
• Administer remote access and mobile device strategies to support flexible working arrangements.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education in IT or Computing (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of hands‑on infrastructure support experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer‑focused, reliable and eager to learn.
