Java Developer – Agile Pension Technology

About the role

Heywood is looking for a strong Java developer to join one of its Scrum teams and help build modern pension‑technology solutions. You will work on new products and features that serve an expanding customer base while collaborating with UX designers, product experts and test analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Java‑based applications using Amazon Corretto 17.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior developers through pair programming and code reviews.
• Write automated tests and support continuous integration pipelines.
• Assist in investigating and adopting new technologies, frameworks and processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering quality Java code within a team.
• Comfortable working in an existing codebase and knowing when to seek help.
• Enthusiastic about Agile and Scrum ways of working.
• Willingness to share ideas and support the professional growth of teammates.
