Java Solution Architect

About the role

Our client, a leading insurer, is expanding its technology team and seeks a Java Solution Architect to design and deliver high‑performance, scalable solutions. This hybrid position requires 1‑2 days per week on‑site in London, offering a blend of collaborative office work and remote flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, efficient Java‑based solutions to address complex business challenges.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate technical requirements into practical architectures.
• Provide architectural guidance, enforce best practices, and maintain coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to foster professional growth.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve project outcomes.
• Ensure solutions align with organisational goals and technical strategies.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to guarantee system reliability and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect with hands‑on Java development.
• Strong background in Java, J2EE, Spring and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with workflow engines such as Camunda and integration platforms like n8n.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
