Joiner/Carpenter – Fire Door Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Joiner/Carpenter to work on fire‑door installations and compliance projects for a client specialising in BM Trada‑accredited work. The role is full‑time, based on site in London, with daily briefings at 07:30 and start‑up at 08:00.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and remediate fire doors in line with BM Trada accreditation.
• Carry out full compliance management, including surveys and documentation, following Approved Repair Techniques.
• Report daily at 07:30 for briefing and ensure all tools are ready for the 08:00 start.
• Provide overtime or weekend work when project deadlines require it.

Required profile

• Proven experience with fire‑door installations, remediation and survey work.
• Evidence of work with a BM Trada‑approved certified contractor.
• Understanding of the do’s and don’ts and limitations of certified doorsets.
• Ability to follow site‑management instructions and compliance‑led decision making.

Required skills

• Use of cordless drill/driver, screwdrivers, chisels, mallet, circular saw, jigsaw, planer, hammer, fixings kit, battery‑powered nail gun, dust extractor and personal hoover.
• Certificates: CSCS, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Working at Height, and documented BM Trada experience.
• Knowledge of BS 8214 and general fire‑door industry standards.
