Joinery Workshop Manager – Lead Bespoke Kitchen Production

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Joinery Workshop Manager to lead our growing workshop in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. You will own the day‑to‑day operations of a specialist company that produces bespoke kitchens and fitted furniture, driving production efficiency and quality as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all workshop activities, including production planning, scheduling and meeting deadlines.
• Lead and develop a team of joiners, machinists, apprentices and subcontractors.
• Maintain high‑quality standards across all bespoke kitchen and furniture projects.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to ensure accurate build specifications.
• Collaborate with the Directors on investment in new CNC machinery, edgebanding and spray‑finishing equipment.
• Continuously improve processes, workflow and health‑and‑safety compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a workshop in bespoke joinery, cabinetry or furniture manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of cabinet construction and production workflows.
• Ability to read and act on technical drawings, CAD or production files.
• Confident in supervising joiners, machinists and apprentices.
• Organised, proactive and quality‑focused with a desire for long‑term progression to senior leadership.
