JSM Architect – SC Cleared (Remote, UK)

About the role

The JSM Architect will take technical ownership of the Jira Service Management platform for a leading defence sector organisation. You will define the platform’s architecture, ensure scalability and drive continuous improvement while working remotely from the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall JSM architecture, structure and long‑term scalability.
• Design, implement and manage efficient, scalable workflows across JSM.
• Own configuration management, establishing governance and consistency across projects and instances.
• Define the platform’s data model and schema, including request types, asset/configuration management and SLA structures.
• Design and oversee integrations with CMDB, Jira Software, Confluence, monitoring and other ITSM tools.
• Act as the technical authority on JSM best practices, advising on strategy and roadmap.
• Collaborate with service management, IT operations and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well‑architected solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex configuration, workflow and integration issues and provide expert resolution.

Required profile

• Significant experience architecting and administering Jira Service Management at scale.
• Proven expertise in workflow design, configuration management and governance in complex JSM environments.
• Experience designing data models, schemas and integrations with broader toolchains.
• Strong understanding of ITSM principles and their impact on platform design.
• Active SC clearance.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and stakeholder communication skills.
