Junior Accountant – Accounts Receivable

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Accountant to join the finance team, focusing on Accounts Receivable. This full‑time position offers a solid development pathway for anyone wanting to build a comprehensive accounting career.

Key responsibilities

• Raise customer invoices and credit notes accurately and promptly, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal procedures.
• Maintain up‑to‑date customer accounts and ensure records are complete.
• Support customer onboarding by gathering required documentation and assisting with credit checks and due diligence.
• Allocate customer payments correctly and investigate any unallocated or unidentified receipts.
• Prepare and maintain the Accounts Receivable debt tracker with weekly updates and follow‑ups.
• Conduct structured credit‑control activities and professionally chase overdue balances.
• Reconcile customer accounts, resolving discrepancies, short payments, and allocation issues.
• Support card‑payment processes, including payment links and reconciliation of card transactions.
• Maintain secure digital storage of customer documentation in line with GDPR and internal controls.

Required profile

• Strong numerical ability with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles such as debits, credits, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• A degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics.

• Excel (including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements, Pivot Tables, and basic data validation).
