Junior Accountant Client Manager

About the role

This junior position offers the chance to develop a career in accounting and finance while managing client accounts for a professional services firm. You will work in Harpenden, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients and gaining exposure to a range of financial tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client accounts and ensure all financial reporting requirements are met.
• Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns in line with regulations.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and statutory filing tasks.
• Provide advice on financial planning and tax optimisation strategies.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve client queries efficiently.
• Maintain accurate and organised financial records for assigned clients.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations.

Required profile

• Qualification or part‑qualification in accountancy (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience using accounting software and tools.
