Junior Accountant

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join a respected, forward‑thinking organisation in Birmingham City Centre. You will work within a collaborative finance team, receiving mentorship from qualified accountants while building a solid foundation in finance and progressing toward a professional accounting qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse management accounts and financial reports.
• Support client management and maintain strong relationships.
• Perform reconciliations and assist with month‑end closing processes.
• Contribute to financial reporting and data preparation for senior accountants.
• Help implement new finance systems and improve existing processes.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and personable finance professional with strong communication skills.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, ambitious and motivated to develop towards full qualification.
• Either holding an accounting degree or studying towards AAT/ACCA.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to quickly learn new finance systems.
