Junior Application Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Application Software Developer to join our National Security & Defence delivery team. You will work on web and service‑based applications that support real operational environments, collaborating closely with users and senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications, APIs and service tools using Python and, where required, C++.
• Support both UI and backend components, including web UIs, REST APIs and data‑processing services.
• Build automation scripts and data‑processing utilities to improve workflow efficiency.
• Participate in testing, debugging and quality activities under mentorship.
• Help refine requirements, implement features and produce clear documentation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on software development experience from academic projects, internships or personal work.
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows development environments.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and openness to feedback.
• Eligibility for DV clearance (British citizen with at least 10 years UK residency).
