Junior Associate – Construction & Procurement Law

About the role

HF is looking for a Junior Associate to join its Construction & Procurement Law team. You will work alongside experienced engineers, quantity surveyors, lawyers and barristers, providing legal support on a range of construction projects across the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior staff with arbitrations, mediations, adjudications, litigations and other ADR processes.
• Draft, negotiate and manage contracts, particularly NEC4 and JCT forms.
• Analyse and negotiate claims, and prepare related legal documents.
• Produce letters, tender documents, claim and defence paperwork.
• Design and deliver training programmes for the team.
• Contribute to practice development and business development activities.

Required profile

• Degree in construction, engineering or quantity surveying.
• Strong academic record in a construction‑related or legal discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines efficiently.
• Commercial awareness and a keen interest in construction law.
• Willingness to travel across Ireland and the UK on short notice.
• Full driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
