Junior Buyer – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Bestway Healthcare is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to support its Generics Purchasing team on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover. This role offers exposure to supplier management, commercial negotiations and stock optimisation within the fast‑moving pharmaceutical sector.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing and place purchase orders with generic pharmaceutical suppliers on a daily basis.
• Maintain high product availability across the assigned supplier portfolio.
• Use Power BI to monitor stock levels, identify potential shortages and proactively place orders.
• Manage stock replenishment, inter‑depot transfers and day‑to‑day administrative support for the buying team.
• Coordinate with overseas teams to ensure timely delivery and maintain reserve stock.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve out‑of‑stock situations, delivery issues and invoice discrepancies.
• Set up new product lines, maintain product listings and monitor spend against rebate agreements.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify slow‑moving stock and implement pricing strategies.

Required profile

• Degree‑educated or previous experience in purchasing, supply chain or buying.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to make commercially driven decisions.
• Excellent organisational and relationship‑building skills.
