Junior CILEX Lawyer – Landlord & Tenant Litigation

About the role

Ashley Taylors Legal is seeking a Junior or Newly Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with litigation practice rights to join its Landlord & Tenant Litigation department in Uckfield. Working under the supervision of senior fee‑earners, you will develop expertise in both standard possession proceedings and more complex defended matters.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake fee‑earning work on landlord and tenant disputes with supervision.
• Draft legal documents, court applications and possession notices.
• Issue possession claims via the Possession Claims Online system.
• Prepare instructions for advocates and counsel.
• Maintain case management spreadsheets and update client communications.
• Progress towards independent handling of smaller matters while supporting larger cases.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of landlord and tenant law (training provided if required).
• Basic understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.
• Highly organised, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills for client and third‑party interaction.
