Junior CNC Operator – 9 Day Fortnight Shift

About the role
Join a global manufacturer operating in the space and defence sector as a Junior CNC Operator. You will work on a variety of CNC machines, receive comprehensive training, and enjoy a rotating shift pattern with every other Friday off.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a range of CNC mills, machining centres and lathes.
- Train on Heidenhain‑controlled machines and become proficient across different equipment.
- Follow a weekly rotating shift schedule (Week 1: 6 am‑2 pm Mon‑Fri; Week 2: 1:45 pm‑11:30 pm Mon‑Thu).
- Maintain high‑quality standards required for aerospace, space and defence projects.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or apprentice with an HNC/HND, T‑Level or equivalent in Machining.
- Ability to commute to York.
- Motivation to develop technical expertise in a fast‑moving environment.
Required skills
- CNC operation.
- Milling, machining centre and lathe operation.
- Heidenhain control proficiency.
What we offer
- Salary £30,000‑£33,000 per year.
- 30 days holiday and bonus scheme.
