Junior Compliance Analyst

About the role

LJ Recruitment is seeking a Junior Compliance Analyst to join its busy Risk and Compliance team in Liverpool. This position offers a solid entry point for individuals eager to develop expertise in risk management, anti‑money‑laundering (AML) checks and client due‑diligence within a professional services setting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day tasks related to new client and matter intake.
• Conduct AML‑focused client due‑diligence checks and determine the appropriate level of scrutiny.
• Perform conflict searches, resolve or escalate potential conflicts.
• Use internal and external databases to research clients and matters.
• Assess risk profiles for new and existing clients and raise concerns when necessary.
• Provide advice on AML, inception and conflict‑related queries to colleagues.
• Ensure information barriers are correctly created and maintained.
• Support the wider Risk Team with ad‑hoc compliance queries.
• Participate in team and firm‑wide projects across UK and international operations.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to summarise findings clearly.
• Analytical thinker capable of drawing reasoned conclusions from data.
• Confident when dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
