Junior Contaminated Land Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Contaminated Land Specialist to join our remediation team in Manchester. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience on contaminated land investigations and remediation projects across residential, commercial and industrial sites. You will work alongside senior specialists, receiving full training and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with intrusive site investigations and environmental sampling programmes.
• Support the design, planning and delivery of remediation schemes.
• Monitor on‑site remediation works and record progress.
• Log soils and groundwater data during ground investigations.
• Contribute to contaminated land risk assessments and interpretative reporting.
• Liaise with contractors, clients and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0.5–2 years’ experience in contaminated land, geo‑environmental or remediation consultancy (including relevant graduate placements).
• Strong interest in contaminated land assessment and remediation.
• Good report writing and communication abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
