Junior Contracts Manager

About the role

As a Junior Contracts Manager in the legal department of Michael Page Legal, you will support the management and review of supplier and client contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Based just outside Abingdon, the role contributes to smooth operations and upholds legal standards within the business services industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing supplier and client contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
• Support risk assessment by reviewing contracts and statements of work and flagging potential issues to senior team members.
• Help draft and negotiate NDAs, MSAs, Statements of Work and framework agreements.
• Review and negotiate third‑party terms and conditions, suggesting alternative language to protect the business.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, explaining contractual decisions and building strong relationships.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and maintain robust governance practices.
• Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to integrate legal considerations into business objectives.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in implementing efficiency enhancements.

Required profile

• Experience in contract management, drafting and negotiation.
• Ability to adopt a risk‑based approach while maintaining good client relationships.
• Capability to align business objectives with legal and commercial strategies.
• Confidence in taking responsibility for decisions and communicating them effectively.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and under pressure in a small team.
