Junior Cost Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Cost Engineer to join our project teams supporting nuclear projects. In this entry‑level position you will work closely with project managers, the project controls team and finance colleagues to ensure accurate cost control, analysis and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with data collation and production of monthly Applications for Payment, including actual cost calculations and variance monitoring.
• Support the creation and maintenance of an accurate Forecast to Completion and compare it against the project budget.
• Prepare monthly cost reporting, including Dashboard reports and Project Summary Review (PSR) submissions via Ecosys.
• Help produce invoices and support the development of cost estimates for new or ongoing projects, including change control processes.

• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Good communication and report‑writing skills.
• Motivation to develop a career in cost engineering and a continuous‑improvement mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
