Junior Designer

About the role

Monocle is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Designer to join its creative team at Midori House, Marylebone. You will work on a broad range of print projects, helping to design pages, prepare artwork for production and maintain the distinctive visual identity of Monocle’s publications.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and production of pages across Monocle and Konfekt magazines, books, annuals and newspapers.
• Translate approved concepts, templates and creative direction into live designs, working thoughtfully with typography, image placement, grids and visual hierarchy.
• Prepare accurate, production‑ready artwork and files for print, reviewing PDFs, colour proofs and cromalins.
• Create monthly point‑of‑sale posters and selected materials for publications, events and retail activity.
• Manage several tasks simultaneously and deliver high‑quality work within tight publishing deadlines.

Required profile

• Design or creative‑industry graduate (or equivalent practical experience) with up to two years’ professional experience in design, publishing or a related creative environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design fundamentals and a genuine interest in editorial and print design.
• Excellent attention to detail and an appreciation of Monocle’s visual and editorial outlook.
