Junior DevOps Engineer

About the role

As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will help optimise and automate software development and deployment processes. Working closely with development and operations teams, you will contribute to building scalable, reliable, and secure IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD, with scripting in Python or Bash.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning and configuration.
• Deploy and manage containerised applications with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with developers, sysadmins and cross‑functional teams to integrate DevOps practices and troubleshoot production issues.
• Apply security best practices, set up monitoring and logging solutions, and support the reliability of production systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
• 1–2 years of experience in DevOps, system administration, cloud engineering or a similar role.
• Working knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and IaC concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch and IAM.
• Practical experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Basic understanding of SQL and MSSQL databases.
