Junior Doctor (SHO) – Acute Medicine

About the role

Northwick Park Hospital is launching a brand‑new 32‑bed Acute Medical Unit and is seeking enthusiastic Junior Doctors (SHO) to join the Acute Medicine team. You will work across a busy acute medical department, gaining experience in the medical take, AMU, SDEC and HDU while supporting a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality acute medical care to patients of varying acuity.
• Rotate through the medical take, Acute Medical Unit, Same Day Emergency Care and High Dependency Unit.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and handovers.
• Adhere to NHS clinical governance, documentation and prescribing standards.
• Contribute to teaching, audit and research activities as required.

Required profile

• Fully qualified medical doctor with eligibility to work in the UK.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a varied rota including days, twilights, nights and weekends.

Required skills

• Medical qualification (e.g., MBBS, MBChB) and registration with the GMC.
