Junior Footwear Technologist

About the role

Mountain Warehouse is seeking a Junior Footwear Technologist to join its Footwear team in London. The role supports technical development, quality, fit, testing and compliance of the footwear range, ensuring products are delivered safely, sustainably and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review testing and collate compliance documents required for import in line with the critical path.
• Work with suppliers and third parties to collate and review AQL reports.
• Provide technical support and review technical audits to onboard new suppliers or factories when needed.
• Fit and dictate fit comments in fit meetings and follow through with suppliers to ensure clear, accurate communication.
• Conduct seasonal product risk assessments and support product development resolutions.
• Support innovation in product performance and sustainability through benchmarking and technical research.
• Advise on technical and sustainable suitability of materials, construction and fit as part of the Footwear team.
• Review returns data to identify patterns and agree corrective action plans with suppliers for continuous improvement.
• Build strong supplier relationships to support quality, fit and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience in a junior footwear technologist role.
• Knowledge of technical footwear and performance (advantage).
• Good understanding of footwear construction, make and fit requirements.
• Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
• Team player capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Organised, methodical with great attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience in reviewing testing.
• Good data management reporting skills.
• Experience of working with offshore suppliers.
