Junior FP&A Analyst

About the role

Our client is seeking an ambitious junior finance professional to join their FP&A team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This position offers a fast‑track into commercial finance, allowing you to move beyond transactional work and develop a strategic understanding of business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly performance and Board reporting, analysing variances against budget, forecast and prior year.
• Review financial and operational KPIs to spot trends, risks and opportunities.
• Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, consolidating submissions from across the organisation.
• Collaborate with finance teams to improve reporting quality and support cost reviews, investment analysis and performance deep‑dives.
• Contribute to enhancements of reporting tools, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Practical experience in a finance environment (transactional finance, management accounts, etc.).
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with keen attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and confidence to work across finance functions.
• Motivation to study for and complete the ACCA qualification.
• Preferably holding an AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
