Junior Import Merchandiser

About the role

Our client, a leading homewares supplier to UK retailers, is seeking a Junior Import Merchandiser to support the buying team in Wilmslow. The role blends purchase‑order processing, shipment coordination and general administration within a hybrid working model, offering clear career progression in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders on Sage 200 and place orders with suppliers.
• Set up product codes in Sage 200.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines and customs brokers.
• Manage and approve shipment bookings and book goods into the warehouse.
• Request letters of credit with Accounts and forward them to suppliers.
• Coordinate invoices and packing lists for approval.
• Chase suppliers on deliveries and keep internal teams updated.
• Update shipping schedules and process shipping documents.
• Monitor critical paths, generate reports and provide weekly order‑book updates.

Required profile

• Previous administration experience.
• Strong IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Numerate with high concentration for large data sets.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise a busy workload.
• Experience with Sage 200 is desirable.
• Effective communication and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Flexible team player who can coordinate across functions and work independently.
