Junior IT Support Engineer – Entry Level

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Support Engineer to join our User Support team. This entry‑level position offers the chance to start a career in IT within a large, complex healthcare organisation, supporting staff across NHS Dumfries & Galloway.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line IT support to staff throughout the organisation.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and access issues.
• Support device deployment, configuration and ongoing maintenance.
• Work with Microsoft 365, Active Directory and endpoint devices.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and specialist teams to resolve incidents.
• Contribute to service improvements and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Keen interest in IT and technology.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Customer‑focused, able to support users at all levels.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a structured support environment.
• Previous IT support experience is desirable but not essential.
