Junior Mechanical Engineer – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term (London)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our fast‑growing construction‑technology team in London on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work hands‑on with robotic and automated manufacturing systems that are reshaping how homes are built.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the build, assembly and on‑site deployment of mechanical hardware for robotic production lines.
• Support prototyping, testing and iterative improvement of mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineers to integrate hardware solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing production equipment.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent experience as a Mechanical Fitter.
• Exposure to robotics, automation or electromechanical systems.
• Strong interest in building real‑world hardware and ability to learn quickly in a fast‑moving environment.
• Comfortable working hands‑on with tools, pneumatic or electrical components.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software for creating or interpreting technical designs.
• Basic understanding of robotics and automation principles.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
