Junior Mechanical Engineer – CNC Trainee

About the role

This position is ideal for a recent graduate, college leaver, or engineering apprentice who wants to start a career in CNC machining and precision engineering. You will receive hands‑on training to operate CNC equipment and produce high‑quality components to tight tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and operating CNC machines under supervision.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Support the manufacture of precision components.
• Carry out basic inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Assist senior engineers with machining and workshop tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and follow health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of engineering or manufacturing gained through a college course, apprenticeship or workshop experience.
• Strong interest in CNC machining, mechanical or precision engineering.
• Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Full clean driving licence.
