Junior Mechanical Trainer (Full Training Provided)

About the role

This is an entry‑level position for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to move into training. You will receive full assessor and trainer qualifications and support apprentices throughout their mechanical apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities

• Visit workplaces to assess apprentices' practical skills against apprenticeship standards.
• Conduct regular progress reviews with learners and their employers.
• Provide coaching, guidance and constructive feedback to help apprentices achieve their qualifications.
• Record and monitor learner progress and achievement.
• Collaborate with internal teaching teams and employers to ensure successful apprentice development.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Current or recent experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Motivation to transition into a training and education role.
• Ability to travel to Workington and surrounding areas.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge.
