Junior Process Engineer

About the role

Our client, a multinational manufacturing organisation with a large facility in the North East of England, is seeking a Junior Process Engineer. The role will support product and process optimisation projects across Europe and contribute to strategic programmes that drive innovation and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out technical evaluations within UK and EU plants for group‑led projects.
• Provide process engineering support to local and European sites.
• Assess prototype products and materials and support EU specification requirements.
• Coordinate product testing for EU specification opportunities.
• Benchmark competitor products and perform technical comparisons.
• Assist in the accelerated introduction of new products, processes and materials.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• At least one year of experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong IT proficiency, especially with PowerPoint, Excel and Word, to produce professional technical reports.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Experience interfacing with Technical NPD/R&D functions is advantageous.
