Junior Quantitative Researcher – London

About the role

Our client is a globally operating hedge fund that combines quantitative modelling, trading and technology. As a Junior Quantitative Researcher you will join a multidisciplinary team that builds and monitors automated trading strategies across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Use the firm’s automated trading framework to research, develop and implement quantitative strategies.
• Apply progressive statistical methods to analyse market data and identify trading opportunities.
• Develop a deep understanding of market structures, exchange mechanisms and asset‑class characteristics.
• Perform pre‑market checks to ensure data and processes are ready for trading.
• Monitor strategy performance during market hours and intervene when necessary.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Physics or a related quantitative discipline from a top university.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple regions.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
