Junior Research Scientist – AI Evaluation

About the role

Advai is looking for a motivated Junior Research Scientist to join its AI evaluation team. You will work directly with customers to understand their AI systems, design rigorous tests, and deliver clear evidence on safety and performance. This hybrid role blends scientific analysis, engineering implementation, and advisory support, helping organisations deploy trustworthy AI.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard customer AI use cases onto Advai’s testing platform.
• Translate risk concerns into concrete, testable statements.
• Define test specifications, including data, metrics, and procedures.
• Implement, execute, and analyse tests on the platform.
• Collaborate with engineering to integrate new testing capabilities.
• Present results to customers in an understandable format.
• Provide governance, risk‑management, and AI assurance advice.
• Support internal research projects to advance automated testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong scientific mindset with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Interest in AI safety, testing, and real‑world deployment.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with common AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn).
