Junior Town Planner – Residential Development

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a leading UK housebuilder in Lancashire to hire a Junior Town Planner. The role involves preparing and managing planning applications for residential sites across the North West, working closely with technical teams, consultants and local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Carrying out planning and development appraisals.
• Preparing and managing planning applications (Outline, Full, Reserved Matters, Discharge of Conditions).
• Liaising with internal teams, consultants, and local planning authorities.
• Preparing and reviewing planning statements, design & access statements, and supporting documents.
• Supporting consultation events and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitoring local plans and developing planning strategies to maintain a strong pipeline of sites.

Required profile

• Previous experience in development management or planning policy (private or public sector).
• RTPI‑accredited planning degree (degree or masters).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work to deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence.
