Junior Web Developer

About the role

Tech Pipeline is supporting a Birmingham‑based firm that needs a Junior Web Developer to help smooth data flows between internal systems. This fully remote position focuses on practical fixes rather than building new frameworks, allowing you to see the immediate impact of your work on operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse system logs to pinpoint data routing errors and broken rules.
• Write and maintain small JavaScript scripts that automate data transfers.
• Update HTML and CSS for internal dashboards used by operations teams.
• Compare records across databases to identify drift and reconcile discrepancies.
• Document all changes so the client can eventually manage the system independently.
• Set up basic API hooks to move data from email streams into central databases.
• Monitor backlogs and verify that new code handles identified edge cases.
• Assist senior developers in rebuilding reporting pipelines for accurate financial data.

Required profile

• Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript gained through projects, coursework or self‑study.
• Fundamental understanding of relational databases and ability to write simple SQL queries.
• Strong technical writing skills to clearly explain fixes and configurations.
• High attention to detail and patience for log‑driven debugging.
• Self‑motivated and able to organise tasks independently in a remote environment.
