Key Account Manager - Roofing

About the role

Our client, a leading UK distributor of roofing and construction products, is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to develop a portfolio of high‑value roofing and construction contractors across Scotland’s Central Belt. The role focuses on growing existing business, strengthening relationships and uncovering new commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of key customer accounts worth several million pounds annually.
• Develop long‑term relationships with roofing contractors, main contractors, housebuilders, developers and commercial construction customers.
• Increase customer spend through proactive account management, regular visits and structured planning.
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional roofing, building and construction products.
• Collaborate with branch teams to ensure exceptional customer service and support.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial agreements and supply arrangements.
• Produce accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports and account plans.
• Win additional business from existing accounts and identify new key account opportunities.
• Represent the business professionally across residential and commercial roofing.

Required profile

• Commercially driven, relationship‑focused and passionate about growing accounts.
• Proven experience as a Key Account Manager, Account Manager, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or Regional Sales Manager within roofing, building materials, construction products or related distribution.
• Experience selling roofing products (flat or pitched) is advantageous.
