Key Stage 1 & 2 Tutor (Flexible Hours)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for reliable Key Stage 1 and 2 tutors to support young people in alternate provision across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area. Sessions range from 2 to 15 hours per week per student, offering flexibility for both part‑time and full‑time educators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised tuition to pupils aged 5‑11, adapting lessons to individual needs.
• Plan and prepare subject‑specific resources aligned with the national curriculum.
• Conduct sessions in the pupil’s home, library or café, ensuring a safe learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and any concerns.
• Collaborate with Prospero Teaching staff to report safeguarding issues and update DBS status.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or minimum 6 months experience teaching or tutoring Key Stage 1/2 pupils.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) on the update service.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum in your subject area.
• Ability to tailor lessons to diverse learning abilities and needs.

Required skills

• Curriculum expertise for the relevant subject (e.g., Maths, English, Science).
