Key Stage 1 Teacher (Part‑Time)

About the role

Academics is seeking a passionate Key Stage 1 teacher for a part‑time position in a welcoming primary school in Chester. The role is paid pro‑rata on the Main Pay Scale (MPS M1‑M3) and offers the flexibility of daily supply work if preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality, child‑centred lessons that follow the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Support early reading, phonics and numeracy progression in a collaborative environment.
• Foster high expectations and a positive classroom culture within an inclusive setting.
• Work alongside teaching assistants and senior staff to raise pupil attainment and progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience teaching Key Stage 1.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to child‑centred learning.
• Proactive attitude towards professional development and ongoing training.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or already on the Update Service).
