Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (Level 3) – Birkenhead

About the role

We are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 child with SEND needs in a school on the Wirral. The role starts in September and offers flexible working patterns, including part‑time, full‑time and term‑time options.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to a KS1 child, helping with daily routines and learning activities.
• Assist the teacher with small‑group tasks and classroom management.
• Help modify challenging behaviour and create a positive, engaging learning environment.
• Support the child throughout the school day, ensuring their individual needs are met.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Proactive, supportive attitude with confidence working with children of varying abilities.
• Strong communication skills, patience and ability to follow teacher directions.
• Genuine passion for education and a flexible approach.
