Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our junior school in Warrington. The role focuses on providing one‑to‑one support to Key Stage 2 pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 support to pupils with specific learning and additional needs.
• Supervise and assist small groups of students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Provide pastoral care, including lunchtime supervision and general wellbeing support.
• Collaborate with class teachers to reinforce core literacy and numeracy skills.
• Assist with classroom preparation and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children, preferably with special educational needs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Positive behaviour management approach that promotes a calm and productive classroom.
• Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.
• Willingness to engage in relevant training and professional development.
